ABOUT THE IV CIEI
The IV International Congress of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (IV CIEI) organized by the Federal University of ABC and the Municipal University of São Caetano do Sul, has as main objective to expand the space for the discussion of topics: Entrepreneurship, Business & Management and Inovation. To this edition of the event, we have as a driving theme the Entrepreneurial University.
At a time when social challenges are demanding breakthroughs across disciplines, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in universities is one of the most powerful ways to act to energize the economy. It is in this context that the entrepreneurial academic paradigm that has presented increasingly promising results for the economic development of the countries is consolidated, but at the same time presents additional challenges to universities that are forced to change and adapt - often to unfamiliar to higher education.
While the primary mission of educating and building knowledge continues to play a central role in universities, the role of driving innovation and catalyzing economic development through technology transfer begins to take shape in academic experience. Effectively this means building knowledge and research that correspond to the real interests of society, as well as transferring this knowledge and technologies to the solution of increasingly complex problems. These new interfaces of action go through the need to create cultures and mechanisms in which innovative thinking is inspired and stimulated not only by students and faculty but also by the entire ecosystem of a university's performance.
It is also emphasized that the entrepreneurial university is a multifaceted process of continuous improvement and its implementation is far from having rigid guidelines given the great diversity of entrepreneurial approaches adopted by universities.
In this context, the IV CIEI encourages the presentation of papers that address the various aspects that permeate the topic of Entrepreneurial University, in addition to continuing to receive the work of the other key areas already traditional in the event: Entrepreneurship, Business Management and Innovation.
