  Título: “Computational Materials Science for the Design and Discovery of New Materials”

  Resumo: With the advent of the materials repositories, the access to calculated properties of all synthesized and thousands of hypothetical materials is now available. This is changing the way researchers study materials: instead of choosing a specific material and afterwards calculating its properties in order to see where it could be used, now we define a specific property and search what materials fit these properties. We will show examples of this inverse design approach for materials with intrinsic intermediate bands and to understand the Rashba splitting in semiconductors.
