Título: Nano Assembly & Drug Delivery Systems

    Resumo:
Drug delivery systems (DDS) based on colloidal structures have become an emerging field of interest in the past few decades owning to their outstanding ability on transporting and delivering drugs, protecting the drug against degradation, and preventing adverse side effects of toxic drugs. Further, these colloid-based DDS can provide contrast agents for early diagnoses, delay the release of their content, and improve therapeutic efficiency of drugs and photosensitizers by enhancing their availabity in physiological medium or by delivering them to specific targets. This talk will summarize our recent results on the production of colloid-based DDS for application in photodynamic therapy, and delivery of glucosamine, Interferon gamma, finasteride and dutasteride. Moreover, the assembly of colloidal iron oxide nanoparticles and polymers will be presented. Related research was developed for understanding fundamental issues such as the effect of nanocomposite morphology on the collective magnetic properties, through experimental and simulations, performed to assess both, the nanofilm’s morphology and the corresponding magnetic signatures.
