Título: Hidden Mediators in Light of Recent Anomalies
Resumo: Recent experimental results have revealed some tension with the predictions of the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics. The dark matter experiment XENON1T reported in 2020 an excess in electronic recoil events with a significance of 3.5 sigma. Also, a few months ago, the Muon g-2 experiment at FERMILAB released its first results, reinforcing the long standing discrepancy on the measured anomalous magnetic moment of the muon and the SM prediction, increasing the significance to the 4.2 sigma level. Motivated by these experimental results, in this talk we discuss the interpretation of these signals in terms of a new interaction mediated by a light vector particle. We discuss how such a light mediator emerges in a popular SM extension, in agreement with existing bounds.
