Título: The beginning of experimental quantum information processing with trapped ions @ UFABC
Resumo: Quantum information processing (QIP) uses qubits and pure quantum phenomena (entanglement, discord, etc) to efficiently simulate complex physical systems in order to understand them better. Ions traps are among the setups that are more suitable for QIP. Their characteristics were widely tested and they meet all the criteria necessary for quantum information processing. In this presentation, I will present the basis of QIP with trapped ions and show a compact and low-cost experimental setup for QIP. The system comprises of home-made laser systems, compact vacuum setup with good optical accesses and a Paul trap. It will also be presented the futures experiments and ongoing collaborations.
